About

Patterson Field is the "Field of Dreams" of Northwest Iowa. With no public baseball parks in Fort Dodge in 1967, Jerry Patterson decided to grow the game in the area by purchasing 4 acres of farm land in the southeast part of town and transforming it into baseball heaven. Since the field was built thousands of area residents have played at the field and experienced the magic of playing a game with a PA announcer, gmaes and entertainment between innings, lemon shakeups and a full concession stand, and so many other things that turned what were sometimes tough to watch rec league baseball games into what felt like big league experiences accesible for players of all levels and fans. Jerry's goal was always to make the game of baseball accessible to everyone and his goal was for the field and leagues to be funded by donations and compeltely free for all players and their families.
